Calibre 8.68NS

The 8.68NS is the center seconds version of the 8.68N, an incremental refining of the production of the 8.68Z that happened in 1937. Part of this update was to create an architecture for center seconds derivatives of which would end up being used across the range of modernized movements. The 8.68N/NS was the first in this new line of further refining production techniques in the late 1930s even though it was the last to be modernized in the refining of production techniques that happened in the early 30s. It has a strange naming structure when compared to the other mainline movements of this era. Most like the 10.68N signified the centre seconds version while the incremental improvements in the production of the sub seconds version would just added to the newer production runs of the 10.68Z rather than naming it this way. Eventually the center seconds version would all be referred to with the ZS designation rather than the N designation except for the 8.68 which it appears stuck with the N/NS designation.
