The 25.17ABC (Also known as the 9LT in the US market) is a slightly thinner version of the the 25.17 made using the same tooling in a manner similar to the 37.9 and 37.9ABC. It was made at the behest of the US Longines Wittnauer corporation which was the US distributor for Longines at the time and was intended to meet the market demand for thinner wristwatches. ABC means "abaissé", thinner in French.
