Calibre 18.68Z

The 18.68Z was designed as an updated version of the 18.68N utilizing modern production techniques that required less manual intervention in production by workers than older calibres. It was intended to replace several older calibres all in the 17-20 lignes range. The 18.68N from which it was based had established a reputation as a robust and reliable calibre and it was later decided would be a great basis from which to design a comprehensive line of calibres, all alike in architecture, that would meet all or most movement needs for the brand. The 12.68Z, 10.68Z, 8.68Z and 37.9 would all be miniaturized from the 18.68Z.
